"I had a pleasant, not great, stay at Kona Coast Resort. Some things that were wonderful: the size of the villa! A full kitchen, dining, and living area was not quite what I expected; the bathroom and bedroom were also huge. The deck was enormous. The bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the ceiling fan in the bedroom & living room, the white noise machine/alarm clock, the good quality shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and the full kitchen.
Things that were okay: it did take some time for the place to cool down. Not ideal when arriving late, as I think many flights from the mainland do. I skipped the timeshare hard sell (I was able to use amenities with just my room keys) and I received calls to my cell throughout my stay trying to get me to come do that. I ignored them, but it was irritating. The floors are surprisingly thin; I think I did not have a herd of rhinos in the condo above me, but it sure sounded as though I did.
Things that were bad: the wifi. My apple iOS devices would not stay connected. I called both the front desk and the tech support number provided multiple times, and was unable to resolve this problem. My macbook connected, but I was dropped from my meetings several times to the point where I just had to join from my phone - it was unprofessional. I woke up to a Hawaiian centipede in the bathroom on my second day, which was unpleasant. I subsequently killed two roaches.
I would not return if I had work obligations. I might otherwise."
