  • Street Views | Ho Chi Minh: Don’t know what it is about photography in public spaces in Asia but I firmly believe that anyone in a public space, enters that space with full expectations that privacy is not guaranteed and anyone photographing in a public space has free range of that space. In Japan you’re not allowed to take a picture of a Japanese idol during a public appearance. I have had the 🙅🏻‍♂️ sign thrown up at me a few times trying to do so. In Thailand I had a security guard at a club try to pull my camera away from me, with me attached to it and a police demand that I delete photos I took of them throwing a man on the ground to arrest him. I was pretty pissed off at the whole incident and wasn’t shy to let the both of them know about themselves, luckily I didn’t get thrown in a Thai jail as that could have been a possibility. While taking this photo, the lady sitting down to the left told me not to take any photos from where I was, I believe that she didn’t want me blocking her table. But really, you can see the size of the entire area. How much of a factor could I have been? I understand some of the laws of other countries are different but that doesn’t make them any less ridiculous, no offense. Some people only wake up on one side of the bed and that’s the wrong side. We had a great stay at the hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast served plenty of options. We also tried the massage which was value for money. The gym had everything needed for a short stay. We highly recommend Novotel Saigon.

A great hotel and that is conveniently located in Ho Chi Minh. We walked to all the attractions including the market, Saigon River, and all dinner. Concierge recommended Hoa Tuc, which we walk to, and it was amazing. Staff are very accommodating. Rooms are very small; pool isn’t great, it’s dated but kids still loved it

The hotel offers a prime location with close proximity to major attractions, making it convenient for travelers. Guests enjoy friendly staff, an excellent buffet breakfast with barista coffee, and exclusive rooftop access with stunning views. However, the rooms are small and lack adequate storage, posing challenges for families. While the outdoor pool provides a nice feature, it can feel cold and windy, possibly due to its mid-level placement. Overall we enjoyed the hotel and our stay there and would return in the future!

Unfortunate Experience.

Staff were very accommodating after booking our room that Hotels.com stayed could accommodate 2 adults and 2 children we were given a room with a double bed and a sofa (not a fold out sofa couch as I assumed there would be). After multiple discussions with reception eventually the manager came up to our room and found a slightly larger room that had space for a roll out bed to go with the double and the sofa. Had I have known this would be the situation we would not have booked the Novotel. It was not suitable for my family. It took about an hour from check in to having our room sorted which was frustrating.

arrived 4 and got two beds

Please be cautioned. We, arriving 2 adults 2 kids (12/14) booked room with 4 beds, but got room with sigle sofabed and were asked to stay 3 in the double bed. That was not what we asked for. The room was not ready at arrival, even booked several days in advance and arrived at 2200 housekeeping still had to make the sofabed. This is not at all what we are used from Accor hotels. The bed linen on sofa-bed had stains. The "family" room was located at 10th floor and view was at boring backjard/building The breakfast was more than fabulous and made partly good for the bad experience with the room
