Unfortunately we couldn't stay at the hotel we booked. We were told that both rooms had bad AC units and we couldn't stay there. We were given the option of staying at another hotel which they selected for us. We realized later that we were victim to the bait and switch scam, and they took our money for the room we picked, put us up in a hotel we didn't want, and sold our rooms for more money to new customers.
Weve read many postes online that this is a common scam in HCM.
We complained that the new hotel had no gym (under construction), smaller rooms, smaller pool, no pool bar and lesser quality breakfast buffet.
We were given 1,000,000 Dong to use at the Sky bar as compensation.
Terrible experience. We felt scammed and paid off with far less than we deserved to be quiet about it.
In hindsight, we should've refused their offer and tried to rebook or find a different hotel.
