Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa

"Overall, the hotel was nice, clean, and had very friendly staff. They were celebrating their 50th year and once we got to our room, we saw that yes, this is an older hotel in need of upgrades. The doors were rotted and chipped at the bottom, furnishings scratched and in need of repair. The toilet was nice, but the bathtub is not secured to the floor, there is a gap, so while standing in the shower, you wobbled and felt the tub bottom shift under you, feeling unstable. The location and views were wonderful, but the hotel is so large and reconstruction is going on in some areas which made navigating the hotel difficult. We spent a great deal of time trying to locate the elevators!!"

"Wonderful stay, had a beautiful two bedroom suite, staff was excellent, with hotel having lots of amenities, restaurant bar on main level, ice cream and coffee shop, top floor has a restaurant which overlooks the ocean and city, delicious food, happy hour 3-6 on food and drinks. The hotel is located beside a beach and a large lagoon, the beach though had lots of coral, you will need water shoes to go into the water. A 15 min walk up from resort is a very large mall with a food court that sells any food you could ask for, many choices. Would definitely come again to Ilikai."

"Overall, we had a good stay and would consider staying here again. The hotel is in a great location, close to the action in Waikīkī and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and attractions. We appreciated that hot coffee and cold water were always available in the lobby, the rooms were clean and well maintained, and the elevators were fast and efficient. During our stay, the hotel also hosted a complimentary wine and cheese event with a hula dancer, which was a nice touch. There were a few downsides: The rooms are somewhat dated and could use some refreshing. Also, housekeeping is only provided for stays of five days or longer. The most frustrating part of our stay involved the laundry facilities. The coin machine was out of order, so we went to the front desk to ask for quarters. We were told rather bluntly that the hotel does not provide change. After spending quite a bit of time trying unsuccessfully to get quarters from nearby businesses, we returned to the lobby and asked a different employee. Without hesitation, they exchanged bills for quarters and even had plenty available behind the desk. While we were grateful for the help, it left us confused as to why the first employee told us it was absolutely not possible. The inconsistency in service was disappointing and created an unnecessary inconvenience. Despite that experience, the location, amenities and overall condition of the property made for an enjoyable stay."
