It’s a close walk from the main attractions but just far enough that you can get a taste of the tranquil and beautiful countryside serenity. The garden in the center of the pension is absolutely stunning and the pension owner is super friendly and helpful. This is my 3rd time staying here and I would come back again!
If you would like a unique Han-oke (Korean traditional house) experience in the Gyeongju area, this is the place to be! It is a bit away from the tourist sites so it's more relaxing and easy to park your car. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for clean and convenient place to stay. The owner is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rice paddies and farm animals nearby are extra bonus!
This hanok is so beautiful and peaceful. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower and air conditioning is also amazing. The owner is super nice and friendly. I’ve been here twice and I’ve always met really awesome guests at breakfast. Wherever you are in the hanok, you have a great view of the beautiful garden in the center. I plan to stay here again for a third time later this year.
This place is excellent. We really enjoyed staying here, just outside town but a comfortable walk in and great value. Owners speak only a little English but were extremely kind and helpful using Google translate when needed. The rooms are traditional so you sleep on futons but this added to the ambience. A lovely walk in to town via the old bridge and tumuli. Super stay, great value.
Very clean bedding, bathroom. The owner is very accommodating and kind. Near the various historic sites. We walked and biked around to see the incredibly historic area. Thank you!
The location was excellent!!! It was close to 월정교. 월성부지, 동궁과 월지, 대릉원. They were in walking distance about 30 min. The atmosphere is very peaceful as the owner took great care to create an esthetic garden space. Breakfast is included which includes milk toast, coffee, egg, and ramen. Ondol was so nice like a jjimjilbang!
I booked Dokche with 2 bedroom for our family of 4. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owner of the places lives at the site and was very helpful for booking taxis etc. Continental style breakfast was a nice touch although cup ramen wasn't our favourite.
We har had a great two night stay at the hanok. The owner is super kind and even gave us a ride to the bus station when we check out.
The breakfast is simple but good. The rooms looks just like the pictures. The bed is obviously hard, but that the way it should be. The garden is beautiful and you can easily walk to town.
What can I say other than amazing. The room was very clean and essentials were plentiful. The location is ideal if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city scene. Main tourist attractions are within a nice walking distance, but public transport is not as accessible. A basic daily breakfast is included with the stay (toast, instant ramyeon, fruit, milk, and juice) and the host asks that you clean up after yourself which I think is a reasonable request.
This is a traditional hanok accommodation, so be prepared to sleep on the floor. The bedding and towels were pristine clean and obviously hung out to dry as they smelled of fresh air and sunshine. You can tell the host takes pride in their home and in providing the most comfort to their guests. I would definitely recommend this place for those who are wanting to experience as much “tradition” as this modern world will allow.
The property owners/managers were incredibly kind and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The hanok was lovely -- clean, comfortable and the property is beautifully maintained.
This place blew my family. Very clean and modern facility. The staff was very friendly and provided more than enough for the breakfast. He definitely made us feel what country-side "friendliness" means. We will stay again when we travel to Gyeongju again.
We picked Wadamjung as we wanted to experience staying in a hanok, and we were rewarded with a pleasant stay! Ensuite bathroom with hot water and our room was literally next to the kitchen - very convenient for us to fix up a midnight snack :P Very friendly and hospital host too, will stay again if we visit Gyeongju :)
We had a great time staying at Gyeongju Wadamjung Hanok Pension! It really feels like you are staying in a traditional Korean house. The room was basic but had everything you needed: futons, outlets, towels, and some sandals for the bathroom. The building has an ondul, so the room stays nice and warm (and you do too when you are in the futon)! If you are used to sleeping in western-style beds, the futon can be a bit hard, but we found that stacking the futons solved that problem. There is a room where you can have a free breakfast in the morning, including fruit, OJ, toast, frosted flakes, milk, and a small skillet where you can cook some eggs.
The nicest part was the owner though! When it rained, the owner went around and pushed everyone's shoes under the edge of the building so that they did not get wet. When we were leaving, he also drove us for free to the KTX station in Singyeongju because of the pouring rain! He was incredibly friendly and was great about communicating with us through a translator despite our limited Korean.
We highly recommend!
