"We stayed in the Lodge 1, it was aesthetically really beautiful! The only downside is you can hear EVERYTHING from next door, which wasn’t too bad for us because it was just TV but I can imagine if you had a rowdy next door neighbour in the lodge you’d be extremely disappointed. The Spa was beautiful and intimate it is a great escape for a couple… However, two elements of the shower didn’t work, the hydropool could use a bit of maintenance and a little bit of atmospheric music would be great...

"Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased."

"First arrived and the sign to the hostel was covered so you can’t see where to go We met a really nice lady who told us we should had an email with booking room number we we didn’t.. The room wasn’t great it needs updating the place smells of feet in the corridor and room The room wasn’t great it clean the beding and towels clean just the carpet was stained you didn’t wanna put your feet on it The walls where painted over mold The bathrooms where clean need more than 1 shower and 1 loo Over...

"Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. "

"Our “go to” place when we want excellent food and service and complete relaxation and peace and quiet. A beautiful house in a wonderful location with amazing gardens. The only extra I would like is some bird feeders around the garden to make photographing easier. Thank you once again for a wonderful stay."

"Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. They're improving the hotel with new decor and have great attention to detail so I'm sure once finished it will be amazing. It's location is...

"Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast"
