"Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. "

"Spent the first half hour hoovering cobwebs from bedrooms....toilet floor was damaged and spongy......little disappointing really because we've stayed in this block of cottages before....."

"Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly. Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you."

"Gorgeous location and the beds are really comfortable but for the price the rooms are tired and drinking water should be provided in the room. One wonderful smiley waitress but the rest of the staff need to appreciate the customer experience and customer perspective much, much more."

"View from room 26 lovely. Trouble was blinds and curtains had to be drawn as room was very very hot. Air con did not work and hotel said it was policy not to air con bedrooms. Spoilt our stay Staff very friendly"

"The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

"Room was spacious and clean Staff were good/friendly;bar was good! Brkft was good with lots of variety/buffet Location was amazing, fronting onto Lake Windermere!! Stayed here on our Honeymoon, 50 years ago as well!! Parking was good Bed was good ———- Manager was not warm and welcoming! Pub food was ok but it was not a high standard."
