"Really good location for the town. You can park on the garden street car park, you pay 8-8 and free over night. The accommodation is lovely, it’s clean and has everything you need. Breakfast was really nice and fresh. Would def return. The restaurant next door, is 15% off with your hotel door key. The burgers are to die for!"

"Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cereals, and a hot cooked breakfast. The only negative, we had to pay for parking, we booked on Expedia and it was advertised as parking available, no mention of having to pay. We will use this hotel again but will book directly through the hotel website. ( cheaper too )"

"We didn't take up our booking because we were advised by our friends and relatives (one is a member of the local constabulary) who live locally that the hotel is filthy, poorly managed and used more as a hostel for undesirables. We were advised not to stay there, consequently we didn't even see the establishment so cannot confirm whether that is the case."

"The hostel is clean, well kept and the gentleman that greeted us was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is about the mattress on my bed. I could feel every spring and coil. Time to replace it!"

"The room was very well appointed. Shower pressure and temperature were excellent. The restaurant was very well decorated and the food was of very high quality. The waiting and reception staff were very friendly."

"Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. "

"A good looking Hotel from the outside, the food in the restaurant smelled great as you climb the steps to the door. (There is a disabled lift around the side somewhere) Self check in with help available, parking fee arranged at this point, I had missed this on the website, it was £7.50 a night, not over the top but a surprise for me. Room is a bit dated, only two sockets on the desk and no USB sockets anywhere. Comfy bed, plenty of space in the room and good shower pressure! Now the...

"Did not car park. Not met any staff apart from phone call to troubleshoot issues with check in (key pad and room key) I did not use the kitchen but i saw it was there."

The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay. "
