"Arrived and checked in quickly. Efficient young chap did all the preliminaries and we headed to our room. Room was in the main building at the front. Large room with plenty of wall lights and lamps as well as spot lights. Lovely sized room and bathroom. Plenty of boiling hot water as soon as the tap was turned. Beds were clean and very comfy. "The food was excellent - both breakfast and evening meal. Full fresh cooked breakfast included in the cost of the room. Proper Americano coffee served at no extra cost with breakfast! I had a glass of champagne with the evening meal and it was chilled, bubbly and perfect. "

"Checked in late, staff we very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the room I got was not only next to reception (with people coming in and out making a far amount of noise) but also was in the front of the hotel (which is on a very busy road with a far amount of trucks passing). If you are okay with noise it’s a good stay unfortunately I am not and did not get much sleep"

"This is a very old characterful property, with low beams etc. Venue was chosen for a small family reunion and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The staff were all very polite, helpful and patient which adds to the enjoyment. The food was really excellent and thanks to the chef none of our group had any complaints, Definitely recommend."

"Very nice hotel. Great food and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful. Make sure to book a room with air-conditioning in the summer though as the hotel can get quite warm. Overall, a great stay in a nice quiet woodland location with wild deer spotted roaming the grounds. Would stay here again if in the Basingstoke area."
