"It seems this hotel hasn't been updated since the 1960s. The carpets were worn and discolored; frankly, we were scared of catching a skin disease if we walked barefoot. With no disposable slippers provided, we wore socks the entire time. A "we don't care" response twice to my message the day before check-in should have been my first clue. "We had a good stay, wouldn't return. Weekend breakfast timing is 0800-1000 but we were offered 0700-0900 as the only people in the hotel and the owner had other plans. We asked for 0830 and he put 0800. Later we asked for closer to 0900 and we were told that not possible, we saw them drive off after serving breakfast. "Lovely spacious room with comfy bef"

"The property was ideal for a base to visit the surrounding area. Our bedroom and the property generally was clean and tidy. The owner and staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine but the 'help yourself' fruit in the dining area was not fresh. Parking could be an issue near the hotel but our disability parking permit helped."

"It was great for what we needed at the time. Room was clean, although the bed was a little bit creaky. Staff were amazing. The bar had loads of character, it’s a pity there was no food available on the Monday night we stayed. Breakfast was delicious, full English. We will definitely stay there again"
