Hotels near Gateway National Recreation Area

"The hotel was a little dated, but it was fine. There were people fighting in the hall. The in-room phone did not work. I called the front desk on my cell and they answered and immediately put me on hold-for 20 minutes. It was scary. I did not feel safe with the fighting and not being able to get hold of the front desk in a timely manner. I dont think I will stay here again. "

"Breakfast was good. The shuttle driver was excellent. However, the motel has no luggage carts. I had to manage getting 5 large suitcases upstairs to my room. I was thankful for other patrons. Davin was amazing. Very personable and friendly and attentive. I had already paid for my room and found out after I arrived that I had to pay $150 deposit for incidentals. I couldn’t use cash. It had to be my card. I did get it back. The shuttle doesn’t go to the second airport in the vicinity. I had to pay an additional $78 to get an uber from LaGuardia to the motel. You will get more business if the shuttle runs there as well. It only said shuttle service and failed to mention LaGuardia wasn’t included. If it hadn’t been so late and my room already paid for I definitely would’ve considered another establishment. If you want help with luggage don’t go there"

"No parking was available. We drive around until almost midnight looking for a spot. We had to pay for parking and took an Uber. Otherwise, it's a good hotel for a short trip."
