"I recently stayed at this hotel and found that its location is one of its biggest strengths. It’s close to plenty of shops and restaurants, and the lively pub downstairs adds a lot of character and energy to the place. "Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it. For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view. Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare. What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out."

"Our room did not have any heat; it was cold and I was ill. Someone tried to get the heater to work (unsuccessfully); they brought a space heater and extra blankets. The bathroom light was missing a bulb; loose tiles on the bathroom floor; we had to move our car from the lot before 8:30 am due to construction (on Saturday?). We needed to ask for a partial refund, but no one was available when we moved our car and left."

"I was disappointed with this stay. For the amount of money it cost, the caravan was not clean, was overcrowded and needs a lot of smarting up. You had to pay extra to have bedding which I think is unreasonable, particularly how much it cost per night anyway. Communication with the host was fine but not great. Unfortunately I won’t be recommending or returning to this property. "
