When to book cheap flights to Newquay
Events in Newquay can also affect availability and prices. The English National Surfing Championships are held every May at Watergate Bay – and kick off Newquay’s summer events. In July, Night Surf draws a large crowd to Fistral Beach. At this event you can watch some of the best international surfers riding the moonlit waves and enjoy a whole host of other activities take place, including live bands, DJs and firework displays. In August, Fistral Beach hosts Boardmasters, which sees surf, skate and BMX professionals showing off their skills.
December through to February are the quietest months in Newquay. The weather is likely to be cold and rain can be expected. Yet, you’ll have the rugged Cornwall coast pretty much to yourself and cheap flights should be easy to come by.
If you’re not visiting for the events, and are happy with milder but fairly good weather, then booking a flight during the shoulder season between April and June or September and October offers you cheaper flights, lower-priced accommodation and the chance to spend your time in the sun. In addition, during this time Newquay’s harbour is home to the Newquay Fish Festival in September, where restaurants, produce suppliers and chefs showcase their expertise.
