"Location worked very well for our needs. Location was a bit sketchy but we came across zero issues with the neighborhood. Room wasn’t perfect and could have been a little more clean as there was a dirty rag on the floor and the bed sheets/pillows had some questionable stains. Best New Subs across the street was delicious and worth stopping by. Keep in mind all amenities, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge areas are all shared spaces. Doors to the rooms could have been more secured with deadbolts."

"This hotel has a lot of history and character, and it’s clear that the management is making an effort to preserve the building while keeping it in good condition. The property may be older, but it is well maintained and has a unique charm that newer hotels often lack. I was especially impressed by the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and hardworking, and their dedication really enhanced the overall experience. My only complaint is the air conditioning. The room was extremely cold, and it was difficult to get the temperature to a comfortable level. Aside from that, I had a pleasant stay and appreciated both the historic atmosphere and the excellent service."

"Received a message from the hotel in advance that, among other details, parking is available in the garage across the courtyard. Arrived, pulled into garage and into a hotel designated spot in the garage. But at check-in was told all hotel spots were reserved, no more were available, and I needed to move my vehicle. There was no such detail in the advance information -- and it seems pretty important. Also, there was no way to lock/secure the bathroom door."

"The website photos are straight up lies. The words that come to mind for the establishment are dilapidated, dank, poorly constructed, cheap. The ‘fitness center’ consists of two treadmills and a clearly broken cable machine (the cords were loosely strewn all over), half of the ‘breakfast’ was either out of stock or out of order, and trash/ materials meant to be stored away were out and about, obstructing walkways. In my own room, the sliding shower door was improperly installed and would not remain closed, so the shower was effectively the entire bathroom. They *diluted* the hand soap with either water or another thinning agent, the wooden ‘cabinetry’ from the photos was a skeletal shelving unit purchased from some discount retailer, and the blinds meant to keep the floodlights out had no way to adjust them, as the cord had been removed/broken at some point. The best part was when the storm knocked out the power around 8:30 pm. This motel consists of two buildings- the other building’s power returned before 1 am. The building I was in never restored power, despite every other building in the area getting it back. The room and building was powerless until after I checked out the following morning. The food I bought to save money went bad, and had no way to shower/clean or charge my electronics overnight. Not exactly easy to navigate Chicago without your map available. If there were l an avenue to appeal for a refund, I absolutely would. A joke of an establishment."
