I had a very nice stay here once we got the room sorted out. I checked in an unfortunately the room smelled of sewage and you could not open the windows. I told the desk staff this right after checking in. I asked can I move rooms please? The man who handled the enquiry, his initial reaction was not to check if any more rooms, but to say oh we don't have anymore and we can flush the system to get rid of the smell. I said ok and went to the restaurant for an hour. They did this. However there was still a bad smell so then I checked on Expedia and they had many types of room available. So I called reception from the room and this time a manager rectified the situation within 10 minutes and found us another room which was very nice, but most important had no smell. The hotel then was very kind and apologised several times and also gave a bottle of wine and IHG points. I had a nice stay. I would just say check the roster for the night before saying you don't have any rooms. I have had to switch rooms at a Travelodge in Edinburgh before and they did this without question.
