"The good and the bad: Good: The staff are the best feature of this property. They're really fantastic people who are helpful, friendly and kind. Someone is always available to assist whether it's 9am or 3am. The food is fantastic - we have stayed at multiple resorts in Philippines over a three week period and the breakfast we had at Reef Strand was better than all of them. The view was incredible. The resort always has a tricycle available to take you to the town square when needed, which is helpful because it's about a 15-20min walk. Bad: The resort does need extensive upgrades and maintenance. My room (201) smells like sewage. I mentioned this to the "

"We had an ocean view upstairs. Really great! If you stay downstairs, there are rooms people walk by to get to breakfast- so if you need a lot of privacy, look for a room to the left as you face the beach Nice amenities and fresh water available. Staff was very nice and helpful. You are at the end of the main restaurant area, so it was good for our kids. Breakfast was good and different each day- Filipino style mainly but eggs cooked to order. The coffee could be improved, but you can go to a coffee shop close by if necessary. We booked in-room massages thru the front desk and they were great. Rooms are good size and we had plenty of storage for our 4 night stay. They'll clean your room as needed. There's direct beach access, but no swimming there. You can easily walk around town. We've stayed at Cuna hotel, Lagun hotel and this one. We enjoyed them all, but just seeing the boats and sunset right out your window is so relaxing. PS. There's no smoking in most of the town, but you can smoke on your balcony"

"I could not see the ocean from my room but from outside the room and from breakfast room on top floor. There was a mix up with booking and I was booked for 2 rooms. Anyway this was sorted and also my booking said half board which I thought was included breakfast but no half board is only the room ????Anyway they finally did give me breakfast for the one morning I stayed there. Room was okay for one night- noisy air conditioner. "

"Was a very special place. Great personal staff, good food, beautiful location. The only thing that could use a bit of attention is the boat and staff that pick you up. It’s a bit dirty and staff was unkept. "

"If you are on your honeymoon, or on a romantic getaway, this is the IDEAL place to stay. But I had gone with one of my friends, so at first, I was so disappointed to find out that we were stuck on this island, so far away from El Nido, and that there was no boat service to and from El Nido after 5 pm. When I found out about this I asked them if I could cancel my reservation a week before we arrived, but they would not let me. We would not even be able to make it to the beautiful island hopping tours since we were so far away. Then we were given a room with no view, although I had booked an ocean view room. The front desk supervisor Jhona was wonderful and she really did everything to make our stay better. She upgraded us to an amazing beach front villa, and arranged for an island hopping tour to wait for us. The beach on this island is a sparkling turquoise, just like in the pictures, and they even take you around the island with a kayak if you want, which was an amazing experience!"

"My wife and I had an amazing time staying at Glamping at Karuna El Nido. Was it perfect? Far from it actually but the staff was amazing, the food was good and reasonable, and the views are to die for. The restaurant and pool area are also amazing. Cats will visit you at dinner : ) In case you're wondering the issues we had with the Jungle Lodge: * There is a big trail of ants on the patio at nightly only. * Our unit lost power on our last day so we had no AC : ( * The prices differ (sometimes cheaper, sometimes more expensive) from the menu prices at the Karuna restaurant. * The shower is pretty tiny and the water pressure is low. Also, yes, there are a lot of stairs but I enjoy a small walk/hike after dinner just to help digest a little. There were some issues yes but this was still an amazing place to stay at. The waitstaff, front desk workers, and our driver Brian were all super friendly and helpful!"

"Clean, updated room. Shower could have been a little cleaner. Staff was absolutely lovely. Amenities were great, nice pool, outdoor shower, decent gym, kitchen made great food. Very close to the airport and Lío beach. Quiet at night We did get stomach issues during our stay, though we tried to be very careful. Cant say for certain it was due to food at the hotel but be wary of the water while you shower, no ice, only bottled water, only cooked food, etc."
