"Full disclosure-there is room renovation happening in the rooms all around mine. That was not disclosed before I made my non-refundable reservation. My room has very obviously not been renovated. The carpet was not clean. The curtains that covered the windows looking out to the public inside courtyard were partially hanging off the rod. There were no other windows and the only room lights were two low level lighting wall sconces, one on each side of the bed. No ceiling or lamp lights other than...

"The room I stayed in smelled like damp mop. The AC was notnworking properly. I felt very uncomfortable there"

"We had the displeasure of seeing at the La Quinta in Buffalo, New York, July 2 of 2026. When we pulled up to the hotel, it looked nice from the outside. The parking lot was clean. The front entryway was clean. And then overwhelming aroma of cologne hit me straight in the face when I walked up to the front desk. It was strong enough that it hurts to breathe a little bit We got checked in first floor which normally would be lovely. Upon opening the door to the room and it was about 100° inside....

"Front of property has people hanging around watching you walk in and out. Charged $2 "utility fee", hallways loud and people hanging around. Kitchen was dirty and in terrible condition. Window didn't close. I felt unsafe and didn't stay. Do not bother coming here."

"The bathtubs were piling off inside et the drain caps were corroded. Walls finishes are coming off. Only one elevator is operational et the second one does NOT even has any Inop sign on it. Very rude young man at the checking lobby. He can even hand you your room key properly. ZERO smile on his face. Will not recommend this place to a friend."

"If I could give the staff more than 5 stars, I would. Especially front desk (and especially especially the gentleman who did my check out). Friendly, personable, helpful, and so, so kind. Great ambassadors for the city! The location was perfect for my needs (we had to visit the U.S. Passport Office). The room & furnishings were a wee bit tired (furniture battered, rug could use refreshing, shower/tub could use updating), but it was clean, comfortable, and not terribly expensive."

"It seems that in every hotel we stay in that the TV is set-up differently. How to access the ' live ' TV is always a challenge, as here, at Hampton Amherst-Buffalo, no station numbers were available, at least, that we could find. If things could be made simpler, less complicated. Perhaps a placard on the table with the TV monitor ?"

"They came into our room before check out even though we had the do not disturb thing in our room and we had not checked out. Huge violation of privacy. Never going there again."

"The rooms were gorgeous, but for that price were inefficient. The bathroom though had a shower should have had a raised side platform and the shower knobes were confusing too. They had mentioned that I will have to ask to get my room cleaned. But someone cleaned it while I was away, without me telling them to do so."

"The major pros : location - steps from Allentown gay village . Free outdoor parking . Charming hotel reminds me of being in an old fashioned movie. If you want modern etc don’t book here but if you’re after charm go for it. This hotel is kind of like an old apartment building but it’s a place to sleep and recoup."

"We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was excellent. Lots of room, private bedroom and connected bathroom. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and 2 tvs. Great breakfast. Only problem was parking was off-site, 2 blocks away!"
