Hotel Casa Roland Golfito Resort
6/10 Okay
"Need renovations"

Hotel Samoa del Sur
8/10 Good
"The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The pool was great with the sunset ocean view. Very nice small bar next to the pool. My overall stay was good. The only thing I notice is the everything is a little dated. Maybe in the future with a little love the hotel will be fabulous."

Botanika Osa Peninsula Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"Pool area is a work of art beautifully blended into the surrounding rainforest, bar area and reception area were modern stylish and clean. Food is overpriced and the menu is not particularly adventurous, the limited choice of smoothies available was disappointing. And the coffee was alittle bland . Pleasingly there is a wide range of wildlife at the hotel.....red eye frogs and green iguanas to name a few, and even crocodiles in a lagoon about 5 minutes away. In summary this hotel has beautiful and stylish areas which are a pleasure to spend time the staff friendly and helpful but the over priced food and underwhelming coffee was a disappointment. "

Cabinas Jimenez
10/10 Excellent
"Great location - super chill. Having the kayaks available right at the water was awesome! Thanks for the lovely stay."

Danta Corcovado Lodge
8/10 Good
"The lodge is wonderful, serving staff are top rank . Its spotlessly clean and stylish, the food is of a high standard and portions very generous. Good coffee available also . The lodge is surrounded by rainforest teeming with life ....birds / lizards/ monkeys/ frogs/ spiders. I have a particular interest in phoneutria sp ....wandering spiders and saw many at night ....such impressive spiders....and shy and calm........wanted to see them for many years, and danta made a reality. Its definitely worth booking a night walk with juan...he is very knowledgeable about the local wildlife .....and the taxi service danta lays on is excellent and a lovely lady who greets you . My only thought is that a swimming pool would have been the icing on the cake .....and i would of given it 5 stars ......as it stands this lodge still gets a sllid 4.5 stars . "

Lapa Rios Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure."

LA PONDEROSA Beach & Jungle Resort

Banana Bay Marina

"Yes the ocean was visible. We were the only guest in hotel. Shower barely spit water in you. No paper in toilet so the septic didn’t work correctly. "

Cielo Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed four nights in late March, 2026. Cielo Lodge is a fairly new resort in its 5th year of existence. It's a project of love by owners Keith and Nicole Goldstein. Keith was at the lodge during our stay and shared many wonderful stories about the evolution of the ecolodge. We were greeted by staff upon arrival and immediately awed by the sunset view looking over the town of Golfito and the Golfito Dulce, with the Osa Peninsula in the background. The villas are simple yet sophisticated and modern at the same time. There is no tv, ac or even glass doors on the rooms (there are screens to let in the sounds of the jungle and keep insects out)....and none were missed for even a moment. Solar power and spring water are the "utilities". The villas are comfortable, spacious and private. The staff is all very friendly and eager to help with whatever is needed. Meals are worldclass, with exquisite attention to flavor, color, presentation and balance, using mostly if not all local ingredients. The kitchen seems to excel in knife skills, with so many dishes full of perfectly cut components. We particularly loved the Oyster Ceviche and also Zucchini Rotella with Pomodoro sauce to die for. Our servers Luigi and Moises were fabulous. Ronald was kind to drive us where we needed to be. Josue, our main tour guide and the resident naturalist, has an eagle eye and ear for the local wildlife and seems to have endless knowledge of the jungle. His English is outstanding. "
