"The staff were very accommodating. I couldn't climb the stairs to access my room. The staff at reception changed my room to one accessible although windowless. Didn't matter for one night. That was the only problem was hot in the room but a fan was provided"

"Comfortable and clean room with an exceptional breakfast. Valet parking only which was pricey (£35 per night) although you might get lucky with street parking. Spacious crescent in front of the hotel which would be nice to use for blue badge drivers. Kevin at reception was very helpful when checking in and out."

"It needs a LOT of updating snd redecorating. I gave a list of problems to reception. The main one being cleanliness, dust, the shower, black mould on the bath mat and the lift being VERY unreliable because of its age. If it isn't working, there are a lot of stairs. Not good if you have even a slight disability, which I have. The staff are nice and the food good."

There was no shower gel in the shower at all and the sink hand-wash was about to run out. Shower area was dirty on the floor. The bath plug didn't fit so our bath just ran out of water immediately. "Very dated. No usb chargers or even plug points near beds. Bathroom very old and feel dirty, even though they clean, due to how aged and worn out they are. Window lets in a lot of noise. Ok for a quick one night stay. On the plus side, staff was excellent and breakfast was great."

Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"
