Air conditioning is not working, just the blower goes on and off for the whole stay, had very disturbed sleep for 2 nights because of the hot rooms. They provided a fan in our which was not working properly. Shampoo container was empty. Only 1 lift was working had to wait longer for those.

This would probably have been a totally fine stay except there was about 50 members of the same family staying there, maybe 75, and their kids were marauding round the hotel leaving trash, upturned chairs, broken glasses etc all over the place. The bar was a no go area because they'd taken over, so loud. Not enough staff to police the bad behavior or clean up and the parents were doing nothing. Pool was absolutely rammed and not a place my kids wanted to hang out - tiny and busy, despite booking a slot. No fridge in the room! Wouldn't stay again.

Breakfast was good; however, they can’t cope when it’s busy. They are lacking in the areas of cleanliness and customer service. When we initially checked in, we were given a dirty room with dirty bedding and dirty mirrors. You could see that no one had bothered to check or even clean the room. The remote control was cello-taped at the back, and the batteries kept moving out of place. The telephone itself was damaged. I tried to call using my cellphone, but no one answered. The hair dryer was another disaster.
We complained about the room, and the next day you could see the difference when we walked in—it was like a different room. The cleaner did an amazing job cleaning the room and changing the bedding. The lady at reception the next day was nice, and the maintenance lady was also very kind and helpful. They are the people who made a difference. They put a new phone in the room and provided a new remote.
I just wish all staff were as consistent as the reception lady, the maintenance lady, and the cleaner. It’s sad that they are excellent at their jobs, but a few bad apples ruin it all.
At breakfast, we were made to wait for more than 6 minutes just for someone to assign us a table, and they were not busy. The young lady just looked at us, ignored us, and did not even acknowledge us. She disappeared for about 6 minutes; after that, she told us we could go and sit down.

Stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent and couldn’t fault it.
Check-in was spot on—friendly, genuine, and brilliant with our kids (colouring pack + cookies went down a treat). Room was spacious with sofa beds already set up, which made life easy straight away.
Breakfast was excellent—loads of choice and constantly topped up. Just book ahead as it gets busy.
Great for families. Would definitely stay again.

Bed was comfortable and room was clean.
The blind wasn't blackout.
There was a car alarm going off in the car park a lot.
Could hear the lift movement from our room.
The overhead shower was fantastic, strong and hot.
The pool was nice but the white grate around it needed cleaning and the walk from the changing rooms to the pool was a bit embarrassing and very cold! The toilets in the changing room smell a bit.
Breakfast was a let down - the hot food was warm at best, the baked goods overcooked and cold.
The staff were friendly.
The welcome cookies were amazing.
I couldn't pair my phone (Google pixel) to the TV so couldn't watch netflix on it.
Shame I had to pay for parking!

First time we've stayed here since Doubletree by Hilton have taken over the building.
Our room was clean, and shower good, but bottom of the shower screen leaked badly so by the time you finished showering, you had a massive puddle on the floor at the side of the toilet.
When we checked in, we were asked by the receptionist what time we would like breakfast, but it was obvious the following morning that there was no real system in place; the restaurant was full to capacity, we were asked to use a table in the bar, and several people had to wait for a table to become available....what was the point of being asked what time we would be taking breakfast?
Also, the layout didn't seem to work. We have stayed at the Doubletree in Ealing on numerous occasions, and never seen such queues for food. In addition, it was noted that pastries were being kept warm right next to cooked bacon. This meant that splashes from bacon fat were landing on the pastries as people helped themselves - not good for those that are vegetarian! To be fair, we did mention this to a member of staff, who went to the kitchen and brought a fresh one out. I don't believe that such items should be right next to meat products like this and should have an area separate where there is no risk of cross-contamination.
In summary - ok, but could be much better!
