"very unique and elaborate atmosphere. Absolute must for people looking for a unique experience. than you enter the rooms"

"Very comfortable hotel. The fluorescent lighting in the room is harsh and potentially uncomfortable for some people. The complimentary breakfast is satisfactory. Instant oatmeal is available but cooked oatmeal wood be much more satisfying and healthier."

"It was a very nice property."

"We stayed over one night and it was perfect for what we needed"

"Interior and exterior needs updating."

"Spectacular interior spaces and super friendly owner. The interior is filled with incredible woodwork, especially grand staircase. Our suite was large and comfortable. Books everywhere to read. Great amount of satisfying choices for breakfast. We were pleasantly stuffed afterwards. Close to several restaurants. We were biking the Erie Canal Trail from Syracuse to Amsterdam NY and it was very convenient, close to trail and owner insisted on having our bikes inside. Loved it!!!"

"There is no way they should charge what they charged for 1 night stay. "

The bed was comfy though. Ultimately the stay was okay. It's would have been 100% better if the front end staff were more personable. That's what makes stays more pleasant, helpful and accommodating staff."

"I've debated writing this review, but I need to say that the place is just not safe. I had to move rooms twice because the door locks didn't work and the ground-floor window wouldn't close... let alone lock. And that's not even talking about the beer bottle caps left on the room floor, the general layer of filth everywhere, the wet towels left from the previous guest, the rusted out showerhead, or the mouse poop behind the nightstand. The staff are really nice people, it's just a very dirty...
