"Very clean room and plenty of parking"

"A great base for visiting the area. Comfortable and clean. Food, both breakfast and dinner menu is great value and tasty."

"Bar seating area very comfortable. Breakfast excelleny"

"Lovely hotel, great room, very quiet location. Restaurant & food were superb, recommend highly"

"The room was clean and tidy, but very hot - this is late October! There is no aircon in the room I stayed in and it is too noisy to leave open balcony door. The St Nicholas says its a hotel, but in reality its "some extra rooms over the road from The George Hotel". It doesn't feel like you're staying in a hotel at all. Balcony outside light wasn't working and clearly hadn't been checked."

"Polite staff! The room was clean but stains on the floor. Overall, we did enjoy staying at Braintree."

"All good"

"Very clean 👌 , comfortable and amazing stay."

"Excellent place lovely breakfast"

"The manager tried to charge us twice and then the room smelt musty and damps stained carpet and worn furniture. Didn’t stay, went home the minute we saw the room. Wasn’t anyone on reception when we left. AVOID"

"Very comfortable bed"

"If your looking for an overrated hotel then this is your place!!! Dated old dirty pillows, hair in the bed, chips in the mirror bed so uncomfortable you might aswell sleep on the floor dirty towels, don't get me started on the parking fee aswell, 9 pound! Reception staff on arrival grumpy as hell! Reception staff when leaving very nice and helpful shame they wasn't working when we arrived! Overall wished we had just booked a Premier inn that worked out cheaper with decent beds aircon and all that...

"Nice hotel and great room size, good location."

"The hotel is undergoing a renovation at the moment, but the rooms and general areas are clean and quiet, the staff in the bar - restaurant are most accommodating, the food is cooked to order but the wait is well worth it the food produced is excellent. Defiantly recommend the food."

"Beautiful setting, very helpful staff, lovely hotel excellent restaurant."
