"I booked this hotel for scuba diving. It’s right next to San Carlos Beach. It’s a prime location in Cannery Row and within walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores. The room is spacious and clean. There was guest parking with additional fee. Overall it was pretty good for a 2-star hotel. I’m happy with the stay."

"I booked the stay the day before and paid $307 including taxes for one night for a room with two queen beds. It was the most affordable in the area that wasn’t a 2 star hotel. Wished it had a pool for that price, but I guess it’s just the hype of the area."

"I think the people were nice. The place was clean. The rooms were good but could use Kleenex in rooms.
I’d say the less-than-perfect score is due to the construction workers there. It seems like a group of men live there that work construction and seem to have taken over a bit. They’d hang out outside of their hotel rooms and were somewhat loud. Didn’t make me feel super comfortable. They were fine and no problems but it just felt weird to me. "

"Last week I had a very pleasant stay at Deer Haven Inn. It's location is at the quiet end of the peninsula, which I appreciate. Very short walk to Asilomar beach. My room had a small fridge and microwave, also a coffee maker. Very clean and very safe. Adequate parking. Nisha, who manned the front desk, is very pleasant and efficient. I love Pacific Grove, and Deer Haven is one of the more affordable options.

"This hotel is a short drive to Monterey or even Santa cruz. It's not your average hotel where you wonder if the people are on vacation or if they're actually living there. It's right on the water which is near the Elkhorn Slough. You might see otters in the water and there are a variety of birds right outside of your window. The room was super cute. You have access to the shared kitchen and dining room in the house on the property. I will definitely be staying there again."
