So check in was set for 4pm and we had arrived a little before 3pm to try and check in. Front desk checked us in, but told us the room wouldn't be ready for a few hours due to cleaning taking too long. I asked when a good time to return would be and was just told a few hours. She allowed us to use the restroom in the office and we walked to Asilomar beach which was about 10 mins away and had a great time there. We got back maybe 4:30/5-ish and the room was cleaned so we just got our stuff and made ourselves at home. We stayed 2 nights and both nights were relatively quiet but we could definitely hear the upstairs neighbors the second night. Checkout was a little confusing as the office is only open at 8am and we were trying to get going at ~7:45am. No one was in there and no one answered the phone when I called. There wasn't a clear place to leave the key cards, so I slid them under the window. Other things were the conditioner dispenser in the shower was broken and held up with masking tape so it fell off several times during our stay and the fireplace didn't work at all.
Overall, I would say if you're looking for a cheap stay in a good location and have pets staying with you, this is a good choice. If you're looking for something a bit more in terms of amenities you should maybe look elsewhere.
