B&B in Stafford District

"I recently stayed at this Holiday Inn for two nights during a business trip, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The hotel building itself feels quite outdated and worn, and the exterior was not particularly clean or well-maintained. My room was located around 5–10 minutes away from reception, and the only access was on foot via a route that was not straightforward or convenient. As I was travelling for work, I had to carry luggage and equipment back and forth from the car park multiple times, which made the stay unnecessarily tiring and inconvenient. The room itself was also below expectations. It was not properly cleaned, and the carpet had large red stains, which was quite off-putting. Overall, the condition of the room felt tired and in need of a complete refurbishment. Breakfast was another letdown, with a very basic and limited selection compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at. Overall, this stay did not meet the standards I would expect, especially for a business trip where convenience and comfort are important."

"It was a serviceable place to stay. We booked a en-suite double, which had a very unique layout in Room 8, with the shower/sink area being an open area. Bed was extremely comfortable as a plus point. They didn't initially give us towels for the room at check in, so had to go back up get them. Walls are quite thin as we could hear people clearing talking, and later, loudly snoring in one of the dorm rooms next door. The room had basic amenities for the price. It was fine for a one night stop over for work. The reception/lounge area is quite nice and had a great aesthetic using the original brick work, so the presentation in the entrance isn't lacking."

"Staff were friendly, its in a good place, bedrooms were clean, but overall it's very rundown. Threadbare carpets, musty smell in corridors ETC. But this reflected in price. No breakfast option, but Cafe on the cop over road was a good place to go."

"Breakfast was phenomenal. It was strange that there was only one robe in the double bedroom and I wish coffee and biscuits were replenished in the room every day. Otherwise, I have nothing negative to say. This was my third stay in this hotel and I love it there every time. "

"Room was fine, clean and tidy on arrival. We didn’t visit the restaurant so can't comment on dinner/breakfast etc. Bar was good with the usual drinks on offer, priced as you would expect for a hotel. Staff were brilliant, polite, helpful, engaging and patient. We arrived very early, staff were happy to securely store luggage for us until check-in (after we'd been to the rugby game at Villa Park). Later on, the barman was very helpful and friendly with our two young children... being very patient while they took an age to decide what colour J2O they would like! 😄 Receptionist was genuinely interested in our rugby game the next morning... really nice, genuine staff."

"During breakfast coffee machine was not working, no phone in the room, no storage/cupboard in the room, cleanliness was average, asked for boiled egg but was told it will take 15 minutes."

"We did not feel the breakfast was value for money. Our room was clean although it was freezing cold. For a club room it was disgraceful."
