The name said it is a resort. It was anything but a resort. As soon as we were checking in the front desk clerk, Raul, treated us as if we were inconveniencing him whenever we asked questions. A perfect example was when we called and asked for an iron. Raul stated he contact housekeeping and would call us back. We waited for ten minutes and received no reply. We went down to the front desk and asked him directly. His reply, " Give me 20 minutes and I'll get back with you." I am a former employee of The Del Mar Hilton and attitude like Raul's and response to a guest like that would be grounds for immediate dismissal. We were told we could only have one 32 oz bottle of water (between 2 people) per day! The furniture in the room was falling apart. If we wanted anything extra, like a bowl of fruit for breakfast there is an extra charge. Our experience felt like we were being nickel and dime for every little thing. I have traveled the world several times and have never been in a hotel / resort that didn't have at least a coffee maker set up and a mini fridge. If I could submit photos of the condition of the room I definitely would.
