"An absolute gem of a hotel right in the heart of the "old town" area near Kloof Street. Beautiful colonial style design with fantastic local artwork throughout, amazing (cool) pool, honesty bar, secure on street parking (security watchmen at all times) and the most amazing helpful staff I've ever had at a hotel - emails and information on things to do, restaurants etc was outstanding. A really brilliant hotel in every way!"

"Our oasis… while the other hotels along Camos Bay are on the loud main road through town, The Retreat is just enough above the road that you really only hear the ocean waves breaking on the shore or the birds in the gardens. We were so happy we picked this place instead of near the chaos. The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive and we ended us eating there most every night as the food was great and the outside dining area had the best ocean sunset views you could ask for. "We stayed here from March 14 th to March 22. We booked 2 rooms and the stay was awesome. It was right at the city center. The staff was so attentive and very courteous and friendly. The rooms were spacious, neat and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was awesome. "
