"An absolute gem of a hotel right in the heart of the "old town" area near Kloof Street. Beautiful colonial style design with fantastic local artwork throughout, amazing (cool) pool, honesty bar, secure on street parking (security watchmen at all times) and the most amazing helpful staff I've ever had at a hotel - emails and information on things to do, restaurants etc was outstanding. A really brilliant hotel in every way!"

"Our oasis… while the other hotels along Camos Bay are on the loud main road through town, The Retreat is just enough above the road that you really only hear the ocean waves breaking on the shore or the birds in the gardens. We were so happy we picked this place instead of near the chaos. The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive and we ended us eating there most every night as the food was great and the outside dining area had the best ocean sunset views you could ask for. "I liked the location of this hotel, although I had hoped it would be closer to the waterfront. The view was lovely out our 4th floor balcony though! The employee at the front desk during the day (Asi, I believe) was very kind and extremely helpful. He was able to answer all our questions and even helped us make some reservations for some amazing meals. Thank you, sir! "
