recently had the pleasure of staying at The Clarendon hotel, and I can confidently say that it was a truly exceptional experience. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the hotel's friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with warm smiles and were always ready to help with anything I needed. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and attractions nearby. The spacious rooms with stunning views were also a major highlight of my stay. The room was clean, well-maintained, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was another standout feature of the hotel, with a delicious spread of options to choose from that left me feeling satisfied and energized for the day ahead. Lovely hotel in a great location

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. Near to the sea-front, restaurants and the excellent Mojo food hall and market and other shops. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the hotel is well-maintained. We stayed there for 2 nights at the end of our Garden Route trip and it was a very relaxing way to end our holiday. They also arranged transfers to and from the airport for us which worked well.

Last night in Cape Town

Our flight was 18 hours delayed so we stayed an extra night in Fresnaye after leaving our villa nearby. The area is lovely one of the best in Cape Town. We had a car and were in easy reach of camps bay, sea point and the V&A waterfront. The staff at the Clarendon were excellent, very friendly, and the hotel is good value being well-equipped for the price. Vibe is middle aged couples (>40) Breakfast was good although maybe too many sweet options!! The only downside was the noise. Our room was more expensive than the standard and we were directly above reception, which meant we were woken up at 12.30 by late guests and 5.30 by kitchen staff :-( I’d say if you value sleep avoid Room 7! The staff were really nice when we complained and did try to make it up to us.

Hotel très accueillant. Personnel au top !

Comme à la maison. On est chouchoutés et dorlotés. Le personnel est extrêmement gentil et compétent. C'est notre deuxième visite et on y reviendra.

Ok hotel with ok views

The breakfast was adequate, I sat outside to eat and enjoyed the views of Loins Head Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant staff were excellent! The service they provided was exceptional. The set up of this hotel is like a Bed and Breakfast here in the States.

Very friendly hotel

Emmy was exceptional from the minute we got to the hotel until we left. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean with fresh decor. Afternoon tea was provided free of charge and the breakfast was excellent.

Beauty in the Avenues

Overall, a superb hotel! The first room, a superior room, ended up not having any hot water, the following morning, an unpredictable failure of the hot water tank. The management, more than made up for it, by moving us to a stunning suite and with a bottle of champagne as a gift. The staff, food and service... all excellent!

Relaxing atmosphere and caring staff

Emmy, Nicki and staff provided my mother and I a wonderful 5-day stay. We were well taken care of and they even arranged for a room swap when the stairs became to much for my mother. We experienced the perfect blend of comfort, relaxing atmosphere and helpful/knowledgeable staff. All in all a great find.

Die Staffmitarbeiter des Hotel Clarendon sind besonders zuvorkommend und nett-insbesonders Mrs.Emma ist wirklich eine Ausnahmeerscheinung und berät Ihre Gäste in jeder Hinsicht. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und reichhaltig und auf der gemütlichen Terrasse ein idealer Start in einen Urlaubstag. Auch Garten und Pool sind besonders schön angelegt. Einziges Manko ist das Fehlen schalldichter Fenster in den Zimmern die zur Strasse gelegen sind.

Enthusiastic and helpful staff

This is a lovely property and a walkable neighborhood. The staff is young, pleasant, and extremely helpful with suggestions for restaurants, arranging meals in, and making reservations. The two pools are great for separating the loungers from the kids. The only drawback is that because it is located near main streets in Capetown, it's a bit noisy. But the breakfast is great (French people stay there, so the food is definitely up to snuff!), and every time I sat by the pool, a pitcher of water arrived without my request. Very attentive and thoughtful!

Excellent service

We had a very comfortable time and the service was excellent. Every single member of staff wanted to make you happy. Great sea view from our balcony. Only downside was we got a room with a smaller bathroom but it was fine. Another point is that it would be useful to have creamer in the room coffee packs rather than having to go down in the morning for milk. All in all a truly excellent stay with the nicest of staff you have ever met. Decent sized room with balcony and very very comfortable bed. Did I mention the nightly turn down service and chocolate? Or the afternoon tea and scrumptious cakes watching the sun set? Or the excellent English breakfasts? Gym here I come!

Lovely stay

Just back from Cape Town and stayed at The Clarendon for 3 nights. It is a lovely Boutique guesthouse and have no hestitation in recommending the place. It is about 15 mins away from V & A Waterfront so a cab drive away. The big red bus stop is 5 mins walk away so very convenient. Lovely breakfast spread and very friendly helpful staff.
