Hotels in City Point, New Haven

"The room has an unusual smell when we check in. I tried opening the window for hours, but the smell persists. I suspect it’s the old air conditioning system that’s causing the issue."

"Had to go to front desk to figure out how to turn on the shower. They had a laminated placard with a diagram which tells me they get the question all the time and begs the question, why not have the diagram in the room?"

"The room was clean but was not ready for the advertised check-in time of 3 pm. No mat for tub, which was slippery with soap scum. Breakfasts were not up to Hilton's usual standard. No cut-up fresh fruit and limited pastries. Lobby and seating were bare and unappealing. Day when room amenities supposed to be refreshed and bed made, we requested it to be done at 5:15 as had not been touched by then. Charge for parking, which is atypical for Hampton Inn. TVs in Fitness Center not working. No water or hand cleaners. Equipment good, however. Staff friendly but had limited knowledge of environs."

"The room noise was a bit loud. I’d request a room on a higher floor. I was on the first floor and it was people in and out of their cars all night. The fridge and AC were loud as well."

"So in Room 219, we had: * Black mold beneath the soap dish * Hinges with the screws coming out so the door wouldn't shut unless we leaned on it * A broken window with caulk holding the pieces together * A crack in the shower wall that you could almost poke your finger through It's not the worst place I've stayed in, but these are pretty easy fixes to make and nobody clearly had bothered"
