"The room was clean, tidy, and stocked. The overall ambiance was unique and inviting. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was hot, with a variety of options. The coffee cups were too small, but going back for a refill is a simple solution. My only complaint is the lack of power outlets in the common areas. From outside to inside, the style and decor were pretty cool to make the stay more of an experience than simply a place to sleep. "

"I booked a room due to an EARLY morning surgery at nearby UVA Hospital since we live 2 1/2 hours away. The staff was so accommodating with a first floor room to minimize patient's in house travel. The beds were so comfortable which helped with a good nights sleep in spite of all us having pre surgery nerves. I would definitely book again should the need arise for us to be in the area again."

"I always have great experiences at Holiday *nn Express. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They got us a portable crib for my 3 month old which was really awesome. Break was great. No smoking allowed on the property. I will only stay at Holiday inn Express from now on."

"Positives--free parking, excellent breakfast, very clean, microwave, refrigerator Negatives--no restaurant as advertised--just chips & candy for sale. The reason we chose this hotel was because it had an onsite restaurant. We had to crawl on the floor to get the refrigerator turned on. There was no soap in the bathroom, but a soap dish--the housekeeper didn't have any--we had to go to the front desk for a simple bar of soap???? Fire alarm in the middle of the night left us outside for over...

"Our stay was great. Linda in the breakfast area was delightful. She kept the area spotless and was cheerful each day. The front desk staff were welcoming and answered our questions promptly."

"Super clean, great room, one of the best places I have stayed. It was however quite loud. Sound carried through the walls and ceilings and from across the street. The hotel does supply earbuds, a white noise machine, and a record player with an amazing selection of records. Hotel is well located and can be walked to from anywhere downtown. Lots of good food in the area as well!"

"No hot water for 2 days and no breakfast for the day we left for airport . Told staff and they said sorry because we booked 3rd party :( disappointed "

"The hotel was closed upon arrival and no one ever arrived. The windows were broken and there was an odor of cat urine and a dozen feral cats. We left since the hotel was closed and sought other accommodations. I will demand a full refund from Expedia and my credit card company. Filthy!"

"This hotel is fantastic! Gorgeous design, super friendly staff, perfect location, and great connection to the uva community. The rooms were well appointed with super soft robes and towels. The staff went above and beyond to greet us. We also ate at the main restaurant Poplar and the food, decor and service was perfect! I’m excited to continue to visit this fantastic addition to the uva community!"
