"The home was authentic Jamaican, gated and secure. I arrived late in the day with an emerging dental emergency. The next morning this required immediate attention. The Hostess Tamara walked with me to a nearby Dental Centre to be successfully treated. As I returned and departed for the International Airport, the host Shane taxied me to the airport for a flat $25 rate as advertised, (airport taxis were asking for $35-$45 for the same transport.) The hosts were welcoming, attentive and gracious....

"Starlight Chalet is a very nice, well maintained classic building with beautiful landscaping. The view is wonderful, especially from upstairs and from the gazebo. The food was very good (but perhaps a bit expensive). The beds were comfortable and the room/bathroom was clean and well-maintained. "I had to be there 2 twice in a month because my brother was in the university hospital, then had to come back when he passed but I chose the same location because of the service and the proximity to Up Park Camp because he got a military funeral it worked for me and 12 other family members!..we’re going to come back again, I have to be back in the island come January and your a possibility for me then too."

"The property needs some looking after. Generally, it looks as it if needs maintenance and staff. The entrance to the stair way had bird poop all over the railings. And it stay there the entire trip ( 5 days). There was no elevator and I stayed on the top floor. My room was nice due to the space however, the other rooms I booked (3 additional) were okay but the beds were extremely small. There was no toilet tissue nor any complimentary towels like that. There was a tv that didn't work , Wi-Fi...

"I loved everything about it! It's peaceful, quiet, friendly staff who leave you alone and don't bother you about anything, normal amenities like tea, bottles of cold water and snacks. If you get the 2nd floor I think you would have a very nice view as well. Also I'm a single female traveler from abroad The rooms are safe and you can bolt lock them from inside. The AC is kicking. Loved my stay and will be back soon."
