"This place is a hidden gem. It feels like you're in a forest and staying in a cabin. In the morning, you can hear the birds, and at night, you can hear the frogs and owls. They have an animal sanctuary you can tour, which is great because it teaches the kids the history of the animals and how they were rescued. The staff is super friendly and attentive. "The ranch is a little hard to find on Google Maps as we were driving over in the dark after viewing wildflowers in Anza Borrego- it's actually opposite the Warner Springs Ranch gas station. We were saved by an alert and super helpful security guard who spotted us! The cottage is small and cozy, with two heaters in case it gets cold. Basic amenities were provided. It was a good place for us to get a rest and sleep before heading back up to the Bay Area the next day."

"First things first. The staff was very very nice and deserve the 5 stars I gave them. With that being said, the facilities were awful. The room was sub-par for the rate I paid. I should have just stayed at the nearby Best Western and would have had better accommodations for $88.00. Instead, I paid $116.00 for what looked like a walk-in closet with a bed in it. The room had a musty odor of stale cigarette smoke and old water damage. The bed was a full size and not the queen size I requested....
