Holiday Inn Express And Suites Nacogdoches Southwest by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"This is a newly built hotel. Everything about it is new. The hotel was clean and the room was as expected. The breakfast did include things like eggs and sausage. Stayed just one night due to a quick turnaround. I would stay again."
"I would NEVER recommend this hotel. We booked an accessible room and the first thing we noticed when pulling up to the room we were assigned was that there were NO accessible parking spots near the room given. There was a ramp from the parking lot to the room to allow curb-free access. I mention the 'room given' because we never made it far enough into the room to ensure we were given an accessible room with accessible bathroom-it could have been a standard room for all we knew. The reason we never made it far enough inside is because the moment we opened the door, we were hit with the strongest odor of Marijuana. It was so strong we thought someone was currently smoking it inside the room (there wasn't anyone in the room, but that's how strong the smell was). We turned immediately to go back to the front desk but immediately noticed the various men loitering around the rooms and reception area. We felt very unsafe and decided to abandon this reservation and find a different hotel immediately. This is a college town and families travel in to visit their students on a regular basis. This is one place I would not recommend."
"The hotel was very nice. Bed was extremely comfortable. Nice big tv. We only had two complaints. One, we stayed in a handicapped accessible room, which was very helpful. However, the shower was set up for wheelchair only. Meaning the shower head was waist level with no option to raise it up. Not everyone who is handicapped is in a wheelchair.
Two, I understand that hotels put an additional hold on the card for incidentals. But $100 with no forewarning is a bit extreme. If they are going to charge that much, they should forewarn people, and not just in the fine print, which I’m not even sure it’s in there.
Otherwise, our stay was great, very comfortable. And the breakfast was fantastic, lots of options! "
"Very dirty floors, towels were old raggy, stained. Sheets stained, furniture ,chair was old dirty. All trim coming off wall.
This is clearly a working man motel. Lots of work truck.
No phone, hair dryer in room. Ice machine??
Positive- hot water, no noisy, ac worked
