"Very thin and cheap toilet paper. We had to go to the grocery store to get our own toilet paper. Towels and toiletries are average quality. "

"Loved the parking and the room was nice and clean and newly remodeled I would think. They actually had a tv you could use with dtv. The only things I would recommend are better pillows and definately better toilet paper!"

"Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Parking costs $35 per day for their small lot. The pool and hot tub was underwhelming. There is no restaurant or bar but there is a Starbucks type counter with limited food and coffee that’s opened 6am-10ish. Other than that the views are beautiful and hotel is so cool."

"This was a great place to stay close enough to the beach for a whole day layover in LA (about a 15 min walk to Manhattan Beach). Its an older motel but the price is good! I'd stay here again."

"Super cozy location, very clean and loved the basic rooms were a little elevated by the lighter decor. My view was of the parking lot, so next time I would prob upgrade. Parking was $45 nightly for valet, no other option. I opted to not pay and park on street, it worked perfectly, I always found a spot and stayed away from the “no hotel parking “ that was put up by the neighborhood not the city."

"Have stayed several times and each time was awesome especially the desk staff that assisted us with an issue that was of our doing, iwe will be staying there during the siftball season at LMU for the next four years."

"Looks recently renovated. Room are clean and functional. Upgrades were underway in the parking garage, where the spaces were generous compared to other properties nearby--a number of which I've stayed at while visiting my nearby grandkids. Front desk staff were pleasant and responsive. Two very nice stays, as I visited other relatives in the desert before spending one more day in LA at the hotel."

"The hotel is in the perfect location, by the beach and by restaurants. The staff were very friendly, responsive and helpful. The valet service attendants were great. They placed all my luggage in my room and picked it up and placed it in the car when I was ready to go. I wish I could have stayed longer."

"Despite being in a very busy area, Ayer Hotel in Hawthorn, California was very quiet and serene. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is excellent and the amenities functional, convenient and clean. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area."
