The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful and always have time to interact with guests. Very affordable price for my weekend stay, and I'll return. Free and secure parking as well. "We have stayed at the Harbour hotel on a number of occasions, as well as many other hotels in the area. The hotel is in a great location, has a pool and spa, and in our opinion is the best hotel in Southampton. That said, the room we were allocated appeared to be an apartment rather than a hotel room. It had a full-sized kitchen, but most appliances had been disabled, but the room had little cupboard space for hanging clothes. As we were staying for 4 days, this was impractical. The room also didn't have a phone, so we had to use our mobile to phone reception."

"Title: Lovely Hotel, but Overpriced Entry-Level Room ​We stayed at the Balmer Lawn Hotel for a work event. The hotel public areas are beautiful, the food was good, and providing a breakfast sausage for our dog was a really sweet touch. ​However, £177 felt steep for a budget room with a view of a brick wall (you'd have to stand on one leg and hang out the window to see the New Forest!). A £30 nightly dog fee also felt excessive. We didn't get to use the spa, but overall it’s a nice venue—just disappointing on room value and pet charges."
