"This is the best hotel I have stayed in for a very long time. Every single detail was perfect. Staff were attentive, room and property beautifully maintained and clean. Food was amazing. Spa was so relaxing and enjoyable. We will certainly be back. Only tiny thing I would change if I could - free parking for guests. That’s all. £12 a night was a bit expensive when we had two nights. Still amazing and all the positivities out weighed that."

"A very appealing hotel.Tastefully traditional. Gardens beautifully laid out;so many private areas to relax in. Range of apartments in modern style too. I had enjoyable stay in Junior Suite. Dining room really attractive with very pleasing views . Always a great relief in Bowness to have a place with great parking!!. MINUS-The cupboard with the clothes rail is no substitute for a proper wardrobe as it is cold and musty."

"Lovely hotel close to the lake and very convenient for the shops, theatre and main attractions. Staff at Reception and at breakfast were all really pleasant and helpful. Arriving in a car is a bit of a nightmare: the entrance is in a very tight and busy street, so finding somwhere to wait while paying for the hotel car park and getting directions was difficult. If we could have paid for the parking in advance and driven straight to the car park, that would have been much easier. Breakfast was cooked to order, but really nothing special: one piece of bacon and one (very ordinary) sausage in the Full English breakfast, but a nice spread in the buffet selections. For such an expensive hotel, charging extra for the avocado and other 'special' breakfasts seemed to be taking a liberty."

"Clean room (although there were cobwebs around light and ceiling). The picture on the website showed a much nicer and larger room, therefore, we were very disappointed with such a small room that was three flight of stairs up and no lift - my husband struggled with this (due to his knee operation). The owners were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Parking was restricted as you had to find your own space on the road or at the time we were there, there were a few spaces to use, in the car park belonging to some flats next door. The pool was the biggest disappointment - as this was actually based at the MacDonalds hotel (in the town about 10/15 min walk away) and when we got to the B&B we were told the normal procedure is to book a day in advance! We got to the MacDonald hotel, but we were unable to park there (£25 parking fee) so went to look for somewhere else to park. By the time we managed to get somewhere we were running out of time to be able to swim and get to the next activity we had booked. Also, given that the hotel receptionist was dismissive and unwelcoming - we decided to give it a miss! This was such a disappointment as the main reason for booking this B&B was the advantage of being able to go for a swim! Overall, the whole experience of staying at this B&B was disappointing. "
