"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove. "We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms, which was spacious and comfortable. We had to issues, the shower when put on a full spray only trickled out but on a fine nozzle was ok. The other was we had a blanket in our room to put at the bottom of the bed, but I had to get to changed as it smelt very strongly of dogs. We ate in the restaurant which was good but the food choice off the Thats menu was quite limited. Staff were all very friendly and helpful."

"Lovely lodge Lovely grounds lots of animals to see birds peacocks roaming in grounds . Only thing went for meal at main hotel and found it disappointing due to being over cooked or warmed and not over nice.. being the only ones in restaurant due to early seasons put it down to that."
