"In Cascais, this is perfectly located. 5 mins walk to the city center for all the restaurants and shops but just around the corner where this is private and quiet. Also had to beat is that this sits across a park on one side, and then a walled fortress in front where the area has been converted to contain some specialty shops within a plaza. The staff are great, the area safe, and the breakfast and pastries were a delight!"
"We had a fabulous 2 night stay. We took the train from Lisbon and it was right above the station which was very convenient. It was a 15 min walk or so from Cascais which we appreciated because it was less touristy and quiet. The staff was friendly and it was easy to get around with uber. The pool is lovely and not crowded. It’s only 59 rooms so it felt cozier. Would definitely stay again."
"We had a fantastic week’s holiday in Sintra. The hotel was perfectly located for a stroll into town and easy access the great restaurants, cafes and the sights of Sintra. Brill ice cream from Mica’s just outside the hotel. Easy train ride to Lisbon and the beach for day trips.
The staff were very helpful and excellent service in particular Joao. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast full of choice everyday ready for hikes and touring about. "
"Quinta Velha’s a gem tucked in Sintra’s hills, about a 10-minute walk from Pena Palace and the village center. It’s a small, upscale B&B on two hectares of forest, with a cool mix of old Portuguese charm and modern touches—think restored 1800s beams paired with sleek furniture. We stayed in one of the six suites, which felt cozy and private, like a boutique hideaway. The place was redone in 2019, so everything’s fresh but still has history.

"Great hospitality…Luisa is an attentive hostess and makes you feel comfortable, and makes it clear that whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable to just ask. Everything about this stay was outstanding.
Bed was very comfortable and place is very quiet.
Suggest you get a car because its not a very walkable area close to a lot, but there is a grocery store within 10 minute walk and a couple of very good restaurants, however you can spend 3-4€ with BOLT or UBER and you’re at Cascais Train...

"This was, by far, one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The walkway was ancient, rundown, and felt downright unsafe. The rooms? Beyond outdated—borderline uninhabitable. To make matters worse, the lift was old, creaky, and felt incredibly unsafe. How this hotel ever received a rating of 8.0 is beyond comprehension. It’s shocking and unacceptable that Hotel.com would allow such a misleading rating to stand. I trusted your platform to guide me toward quality stays, but this was a complete disaster. You seriously let me down this time. Immediate action is needed—both for your customers and your credibility. I’m reconsidering ever using Hotel.com again after this debacle"
