Disaster from start to finish. Informed the hotel in advance at the time of booking that we would be arriving quite late. We also attempted to call on 3 occasions to advise that we would be arriving late, however no staff bothered to answer the phone. Turned up after a 2 hour drive, only to be told that they had no rooms available and that their management policy is to overbook by 5 rooms, therefore, guests who arrive on the later side are likely to not be allocated a room. Eventually, a room was located for us, however upon attempting to gain entry, it soon became clear that there were already other hotel guests in this room! Another room was eventually found, however it was a cheaper room than what we had booked and because we booked via Expedia, we were informed that we would need to contact Expedia to resolve.
We are still waiting for a refund, which Expedia have advised that the hotel are unwilling to give, despite two members of staff advising whilst we were there that we were entitled to this.
The staff working there are extremely unhappy and regularly have to deal with unhappy customers due to the ridiculous management policies. I will never stay at a Village hotel ever again.
