I absolutely love this hotel. My children live in the neighborhood behind it so it is very convenient. They also allow me to bring my kids swimming and to use anything on the property on my behalf even though they are not actual guests. I also liked this hotel for the easy access outside the glass door, now they have screwed the doors shut to where they only open around 4-6 inches. Honestly that’s one of the main reason I go there. If the doors are going to be screwed shut to where I can’t access my balcony I’m not sure if I will be back. Kinda of a deal breaker! Thank you

Clean hotel but not near anything. Sleep was good.

Booked the hotel to recover after 24 hours straight of international travel coming home from visiting the parents. Hotel was mostly clean and check in was easy. I don’t know if the carpet in the hall was dirty or just unfortunately patterned. Beds appeared clean, bathroom was clean, but the rooms overall are dated. Hotel isn’t near any food that you can walk to but that’s whatever.

The location of the elevator was in the back of the hotel. So, you check in up front then carry luggage down long hall to elevator and possibly carry luggage down another long hall to room. Mattress was hard

I realize it’s an older building, but the lighting in the rooms, specifically the bathrooms, is lacking. Also the water pressure and hot water temperature could use some serious improvements.

Nice stay expected little more from Marriott

Carpet needs to be cleaned in our room. Front desk gave us the impression we could check in before4:00 but our room wasn’t ready until 4:00. No microwave, kinda of cheesy after paying over 300.00 for lodging. Lobby area was nice, pool area nice. Housekeeping was very helpful.

We love staying at this hotel when we are in town. The housekeeping never attempted to clean and restock our room — had to ask twice and all we received were fresh towels. Toilet paper was not restocked and had to go to the front desk multiple times to replenish the coffee for the coffee maker. This is not the first time this has happened to us at this same hotel. The mattresses on the beds are a bit hard. Regardless, we had a lovely stay.

Bizaar bar charges!

What was most amazing to us was that my husband ordered a Johnny Walker on the rocks at the bar. The scotch was $14 (normal) but he was charged $6 for the rocks! We have been all over the world and this is the first we have ever encountered this charge. The barman was embarrassed when we questioned him. He said the was management's directive. And Birmingham doesn't even have a draught problem like California.
