"The rooms have no AC and the breakfast options are very limited. They leave the windows open for you and the room we got had a box fan, although I did see from outside the hotel that some rooms have a ceiling fan (but ours didn't). Their justification was that the weather in Monterey fluctuates and since the building is so old, there is no AC. But you can't close the window curtains fully, some parts of the windows will always be uncovered, so the room was very bright, noisy, and hot at night....

"We only stayed one nite on our way through. The location was great. Short walk to the cute downtown area. The hotel is older and a bit dated but clean and cozy. An economical choice based on the area. Great fr a nite or 2. Id recommend staying here. Thre is no air conditioning so staying in the hot months would not be comfortable."
