Here’s a more balanced, non-bitter version: Rewritten Review: The hotel is in a great location, but my experience could have been smoother. I noticed some maintenance issues in my room, such as broken door handles, and I had difficulty getting timely assistance with travel arrangements and some reservation details. With more attentive support and upkeep, this could be an excellent place to stay.

It is the second time i have bin by Sir Victor Hotel this year. Really nice, i love the top roof, were you have nice view over the chimney and balcony, and be relaxed with good meals and soft music and with nice places with sun. The room is comfortable clean and still.

I think the location is very good, so the occupancy rate is high that is why the hotel is maintained the business. but the hallway carpet shows signs of wear over time, and there are stains on the chairs and carpets indoors. The rooftop pool also has rust, and everything feels worn out. I absolutely do not recommend the spa's massage.

Great location and neighborhood. Rooms had issues - fire detector was malfunctioning and had to be fixed, bathroom door could not close as it was off the tracks, basin was not draining properly, furniture was not functional as no bedside tables with plugs etc. Complaints were made to the front desk but there was no acknowledgement of discomfort experienced.

Phenomenal customer service, very clean and the food was amazing at Mr. Porter’s. The only feedback is that doors to the bathroom and closet didn’t close. The shower door not closing made it difficult to take showers without water leaking. But, that is a building management and design issue and HIGHLY recommend this hotel. This is my third trip to Barcelona and was better than the Majestic down the street especially considering price. Thank you.

Great location with a hip vibe

As a hotel designers for over 40 years before retirement I scrutinize my hotel selection more than most. This hotel had a very hip vibe not lost on my 70 year old body. The facility is amazing. My issues were all easily fixed by management. We waited over 20 minutes after placing a drink order for it to arrive at our rooftop table. I was then presented with someone else's check for payment. We ate at the bar one night and the bartender came out from behind the bar to take our order. I thought that was a nice touch but the bartender had a case of bad breath. And finally even though at check in I confirmed we had prepaid for breakfast our last day there was a lot of confusion about what we could and could not have for breakfast.

Up & downs

Up and downs. Most of the staff very service-minded but also here, highs & lows. One high was when we checked in and was offered a complimentary upgrade, nice touch and appreciated. The low, the room we got was however very worn out and not 5 star level. It continued like this, some things very good and others not so much. A 5 star hotel should have a consistent service level and rooms and amenities should reach same level and unfortunately this is not the case. At its best, being nice, 4 star but with a minus in front.

Overall I was not satisfied with my stay at Sir Victor, if I evaluate quality for price. The room would need to be refreshed, it does not reflect the photos on the site, many details are not taken care of, broken curtains, parquet with burnt marks, worn sheets but clean and bright. At the reception in 3 days no one had empathy to welcome you in your stay, just the minimum. At the top roof you have a nice views on the interesting buildings, and a lot of sunn, very nice music 🎵 choices, not to loud, and nice to hang there and eat, the food was good but the service again poor, just one little nice lady with brown hair was appropriate and gentle. The only part were i had a warm welcome was by the main restaurant at the ground floor, in the first evening the lady at the welcome area was top! smelling really nice presence, was like" betty boo" in ice bond hair, and the waiters also nice and professional. First and last time in this hotel.

Family trip review

Overall we enjoyed staying here but there are a few things to note that I wish I had known before booking, especially if travelling with a family. Pros - really comfy beds, and excellent food at Mr. Porter (including the breakfast). Cons - the adjoining room that our kids stayed in had no windows. They were blocked out, so the room was a little oppressive. The indoor pool is adult only. This was a huge bummer as since we were travelling in December when outdoor pools aren't in use, we specifically chose a hotel with an indoor pool only to get there and be told the kids were not allowed in. They also never mentioned this at reception when we asked what time the pool was open until, so our kids were very disappointed. Also, no real special effort for kids (kids robes, teddy bears or toiletries) as I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Worth noting also, that the view from our room was of a rough looking courtyard. No real feel that you are in Barcelona, although at least our room had windows! Overall, a good experience but not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Wasn't horrible but would try somewhere else next time.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location , it’s restaurant is really good , the quality of the food is the best , at dinner is a restaurant tres a la mode in the city so it’s crowded but fun with a DJ , food is so good 😊! Breakfast is good 😊 what this hotel has been a the best service in whole of Spain , their staff are so kind and helpful. The bad things in the hotel are : 1. Cleanliness is not their best attribute, rooms are not clean under the beds you find dust from other days and sometimes they forget to pick up the trash , towels or room service trays. Toilettes or restrooms in the restaurant at the morning are really dirty if you go to breakfast don’t go to the restaurant’s restrooms return to your room , they start cleaning them later than noon you’ll find toilet paper in their floors the wc dirty etcetera like gas station toilettes. 2. Maintenance rooms need maintenance soon, doors are already broken and carpets look dirty , as the curtains. They need refurbishing soon. 3. Lights in the room are darker and sometimes you need to go the toilet to see better. And sometimes the switch on lights doesn’t work and is really difficult to turn on or turn off the lights What this hotel has is that their service at front desk , concierge are the best but in the restaurant they’re really really the best in whole of Spain. They’re great. I guess if the put emphasis in cleaning better specifically the restrooms at the restaurant and their rooms this hotel can be 100/100

The staff was very accommodating. Any requests were met quickly & efficiently. We stayed in the family room with 2 joining rooms. The first (smaller room) was the least desirable. No natural light and minimal lighting from lamps. The second larger room was a bit better, with the window additions. In general the darkness of the rooms was our biggest issue. In general the flow in the rooms was very cut & paste. Small little turns, tight little corners, almost like two buildings were connected. Minor things also included very stained couches in both rooms, water flow inconsistencies (at one point we didn’t have any water in our room) and at other times, air pockets in pipes would shoot out water very aggressively. It would also be nice to have small hand towels near sink.

I absolutely LOVE the Sir Victor hotel. I try to stay there every time I come to Barcelona. Their rooftop has amazing vibes, and delicious bites. I visited their spa for the first time for a massage on this last visit and it was probably the best massage I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the Sir Victor for its location, staff, service, and overall vibe.

I had the most incredible stay at the Sir Victor. The room was stylish, large, clean, and very confortable. Every staff member was incredible helpful and welcoming. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. The rooftop was beautiful and I know it made my stay in Barcelona that much better.
