"We have stayed at Astor house before so we came back to the same apartment. They had upgraded the sofas to recliners which was a nice surprise. The apartment itself is easy to get to clean and Torquay town centre is a short walk away. It has a great view over the beach side of Torquay and the area is quiet. The place is clean and well maintained and the host kindly provided some biscuits and milk. I would highly recommend this place."

"Charming place, we hadnโ€™t realised how good the sea views were/are. Nicely located being a short walk from Babbington centre with the rest of the English Riviera easily accessible. Heating and hot water both fine, spotlessly clean and well equipped kitchen (even washing up without a dishwasher didnโ€™t seem like a chore with those views!). We had an issue with the WiFi which the owner worked to resolve, sadly without success. But Sunny Bank is a great spot in a great location - recommended"

Devonshire Hotel

Devonshire Hotel

8/10 Good
"Stayed 3 nights booked direct on day. Staff are excellent especially Susie and her son. Everyone working there was so pleasant which made for a nice atmosphere and they all seem happy to be there. Carpets in corridors a bit tired. Rooms were cleaned every day. We only had bed and breakfast which was served efficiently to lots of guests in a short time slot. Many were on coach holidays and the only downside for us was the doors banging between 530 and 630 as people got their bags collected to load on coach and presume coaches being prepared to leave at 9am. It was situated on a steep hill but you could catch a bus down and up from the harbour area for ยฃ1, free with a bus pass. Taxi back up later one night was under ยฃ6 so not a problem if you cant do hills! It was nice weather so used the pool and there was entertainment on in the evening. Seemed to attract pleasant guests too and we enjoyed our mini break there and will go back in near future"

"Great location close to station, coastal bus routes and with excellent sea views from the terrace and restaurant. Food really good - plenty of breakfast options and the restaurant meals were superb. The Trecarn Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was clean with an on-suite bathroom with toilet, sink, and combination bath and shower. We ate breakfast and dinner during our stay and the food was good with a full English, toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit for breakfast and salad or soup for starters 2 meat options and a fish option for main and a selection of cakes for pudding for dinner. Breakfast wasnโ€™t greasy and dinner was like a home cooked meal, not fussy but tasty. Overall we had a great time. Parking is on the road but we always found a space. The hotel offered evening entertainment of a singer each night from 8-10pm with an open bar which was nice to sit and listen to before going to bed. You could not hear the singer from your bedroom so you were not disturbed if you chose not to attend."
