"Everything was fine except that the bed linen smelt of stale cigarettes. The odour clings to nightwear and after one night stay my clothes went into the laundry basket. Not good. Noisy during the night with late returning guests and banging doors. Convenient location for city centre. Grotty entrance. Very basic room and facilities and far too pricey for what you get. Would not go back."

"we stayed in room 4 and despite having a radiator this was centrally controlled by the main reception. we found this out on night 2 as when we went to bed on the first night we whacked the radiator on thinking that would be that but nope, cold as ice through the night. reception did sort but the room didnt get that warm so assuming the thermostatic valve wasnt fully operational. the shower screen squeegee at the bottom didnt properly fit and a gap up at the hinge point meant water escapes onto...

"The Alamo Guest House was lovely, in a great location across from a lovely park. Easy access to everything …. transport, museums, restaurants, etc. The staff were exceptional. Great breakfast offered."

"The property looks a little old fashioned from the outside, but this hides a gem within. Warm and friendly staff guide you to clean well maintained rooms. A low fee is charged and prices in the restaurant and bar are very reasonable. Bar well used by the local community. Well done."

"Room was clean and breakfast was good. Rooms are very spacious, and decor is amazing. Staff is super helpful and friendly. But, hotel is very noisy. Make sure you don’t get room 15 unless you are deaf and/or sleep like a rock. It is directly over the party room and reception, and there is also an almost constant thumping in the walls all night (pipes?). Then, in the morning the music at reception will wake you up. (It was so loud that when we went down for breakfast, we had to yell to speak to...
