"We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed."

"I stayed for two nights (Friday & Saturday) at Craglands Guest House in June 2026. The host, Eldon, was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. The rooms are clean, spacious and the beds are perfect for a pair of weary trekker legs at the end of the day. The guesthouse is a stone’s throw (4 min walk) from a pub which was great for the football. Firstly, it is overlooked by a loft window above, so limited privacy and able to hear any conversations. "Room was on the roadside so no view and lower than the road so.o0eming the blinds meant people being able to see down into the room. Staff were friendly but their system for checking was odd, just a section at the end of the bar and online check in didn't work.so had to re do all the details. Breakfast system to order gluten free or vegetarian was to order at the bar not in the kitchen and then they brought it to you but you had to go back to the kitchen to get the rest of the meal.
