"The design of the hotel is very cute, and we loved the balcony! The room was very small (which is not uncommon in New York), but arranging luggage was a trick. The staff is amazing! Truly wonderful, kind, and fun people. We had some small issues with maintenance during our stay. I did not love that the ac blows very forcefully and made the room very dry. We woke up with rough voices each day. Also there are no desks in the room and no common spaces. The two restaurants are not owned by the hotel...

"We found the Prince Katano a wonderful oasis from the sweltering 90+ degrees of NYC. The rooms are spacious and have a mid century Scandi meets 1970s Japan feel. "Very quiet which is hard to find in downtown NYC!!"

"People at front desk were very helpful and nice. Location was perfect and The room was clean and property was nice. However, we got a room with a “pull out couch” and one of us planned to sleep on it… this is NOT a viable sleeping arrangement!!! You can not sleep on this. It is worn out and the most uncomfortable spot to lay on!!! Please do not be fooled by an “extra” sleeping spot. Your back and legs and hips will be extremely angry !!"

"The receptionist (a lady) was a bit rude; I understand I was trying to check in early, but there is no need to show a bad attitude toward people who want to spend money at the hotel. Special recognition goes to the cafeteria staff they are amazing and very helpful! Perhaps they should consider working at the front desk! My room had a lovely view but needs a renovation; it looks very worn."

"The rooms are nice size and the location is great, but this place has seen it's best days some years back. The majority of the staff was very nice but when we had an issue with the shower and called and were told they would be right up, we came back 8 hours later and no one attended to the matter. "Arrived at 7 AM they stored my bags and informed me when room was ready. Service was impeccable especially Harry the doorman and Gus in the restaurant. Very spacious and great location. Extremely quiet."
