Parking was the best thing about this stay. Very central and only a 5 - 10 minute walk into the centre. Mason arms is a good pub but the room we stayed in was small & dated but was clean and adequate for our 1 night stay.

A great find.
A great find, compact room with everything you need to hand. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food in the Masons Arms is delicious and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Shhhh…don’t tell everyone what a fabulous place this is! It needs to be kept a secret! Lovely staff, spotless rooms & car parking in the grounds of a fabulous pub that serves incredible food & is walking distance from all York’s amazing sights…this place is outstanding value for money & I highly recommend it.

Super location
Super location just on outskirts of York city walls with free overnight parking which is a great bonus. Tea & coffee facilities and great pub with lovely food. Stayed a number of times and would always return to this friendly, family run hotel.

Excellent stay The Masons Arms.
Me and My partner stopped for a night as we were at a concert in York. The staff were very polite and friendly and very welcoming. They showed us to the room and made it clear if we needed anything more, coffee, tea etc.. dont hesitate to ask. The room was perfect for what we needed. Very warm ( had to turn the heating down ) comfy bed. Shower was perfect, overall lovely stay and everything you could need in a room. Even had a little mini fridge.

Clean quiet room even though it’s behind a pub. Food in pub was great. Best roast beef and lamb shank I’ve had in a long time.

Lovely Pub Stay
Had a lovely stay here. Ideally placed for The Barbican. Booked a table for dinner and it’s proper old school pub grub, really tasty. The room was comfy and clean. Great that the gates are locked at night for the car park. Overall a great stay & we would definitely go again.

Bedsheet had large brown stain I just feel they had not been changed I found the staff very friendly the feeling of a laid back atmosphere but for the price I paid I cannot say I would stay sgain

Very obliging and helpful staff. Room very clean and hospitality tray was excellent. Grateful for the provided fan as it was warm, but I'd rather that than cold. Plenty of soaps and paper in the bathroom. Nice soft towels.

Wonderful stay
We just had a lovely three night stay here. Well located for York Centre. Very comfortable with great amenities. Free on site parking. A really nice beer garden and bar which we enjoyed. Had a great meal in the pub on our last night. Thanks to Freya behind the bar and the rest of the team who made us feel so welcome. We will be back.

Was surprised at how lovely this pub is. The room we stayed in was so cute and comfortable. If I was to give any negatives it would be that they do not do breakfast. Will definitely be booking here again

Short stay
We have stayed at this hotel before. We chose it mainly because of the 1pm check in. However we were disappointed this time when we arrived at about 1.15pm to be told that the room was not yet ready. When I asked how long it might be I was simply told to “ Carry on with your day and come back later”. I asked again when it might be ready and the lady just said “about an hour or so “ So we had to change our plans and hang around leaving our luggage in the car. Fortunately when we returned at 2.30 the room was ready. When you have been travelling for two hours it’s nice to freshen up before you venture out. Had we known check in would be later than stated we could have set off from home an hour later.

We had a lovely stay at the Mason Arms .The staff were lovely an friendly and the food was amazing .A lovely place to stay a beautiful beer garden overlooking the river just a pity the weather wasnt to kind .

From arriving and being greeted by friendly staff we were then allocated a room, not massive but it's for sleeping and washing in so no need for large rooms. Although there is no breakfast there's a Spoons across the road and you are in walking distance of numerous eateries and all the attractions. A grea tplace to stay

Good find for a stay in York.
Great place to stay, bed was comfy, shower room good. Nice to have a little fridge. We were there for 1 night, but would definitely go back. Staff very friendly and helpful. We also ate in the pub, food was very good and good prices. Good to stay that is locally owned. Ideal location for walking around York.
