"The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay."
"We couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our reunion after over 30 years of leaving school. A couple of us decided to celebrate ourselves and our longstanding friendship at York. All the staff of Delta Hotels were professional and very helpful."
"The room was comfortable and clean, great blackout curtains and comfortable bed and pillows. Good selection of teas and coffee in the room and iron and hair dryer. Only snag was the windows are old and banged a little in the wind, and also let noise in from the pubs next to train station- but it’s typical for old buildings. It didn’t disturb us in the morning. I would say if you need to use the lift, there is one lift at the moment and it’s used by staff and guests which is inconvenient. Otherwise it’s a beautiful hotel and has lovely grounds with a fountain and a nice seating area and garden. Parking is tricky and very expensive"
"The bed was very comfy. It's excellently located close to the city centre. The spa was great and calming, however it's a real shame about the additional charge for the spa and that it's not included in the overall price, and it's for only 90minutes. The room let it down as it's quite dated design wise and there were bit of the bathrooms that were aging and not well maintained. The location of our room was by the stairs so we could hear people whenever they walked past."
"Lovely classic hotel, easy to get to (a couple of miles from the A64.) Handy for York Outlet and just a short work into the centre of the city. On bus route if you don't fancy walking. Classic style rooms in a traditional building. We've stopped there several times and never had a problem. Parking is available on site for £15 per night which is quite reasonable for York. Staff very helpful. If there is one thing that might be an issue for some people if the lack of a lift, so if you have difficulty on stairs you'd need to ask for a ground floor room. Excellent traditional breakfast in the restaurant."
"The room was ready before it’s time the receptionist was super helpful and very informative I would highly recommend to stay in the hotel because the location is right in the center of York! Like the say Yorkshire is gods own country! I would definitely stay there again!"
"Great reception staff. Breakfast was really good and the staff were lovely. Very handy for the station and not far to city centre. Will be staying again"
