Overnight business stay
Fabulous hotel - great staff - extremely comfortable room. Only one important detail: the hotel is about 100km away from YNT (and there is a shuttle bus to and from YNT). Hotels.com website says the hotel is only 10kms / WRONG Info!!!

An impressive grand hotel near the beach
A very nice hotel, a tall building with great views along the long beach. The room design was impressive with a glass bathroom and bathtub overlooking the ocean. Room service delivered my dinner on time, although the western style food I ordered wasn't quite right, but still enjoyable. I should have ordered local food. The hotel bar had live music, friendly staff and I enjoyed time there with business colleagues. Overall an enjoyable stay in an impressive grand hotel!

Good option in Yantai
Good option in Yantai. Breakfast (included in our room) was offering a lot of good options, but unfortunately the huge room where it is served was freezing cold, as were most common areas. Nothing bad about the room, but the AC which could not be adjusted (it looked like it was set on a very high heat setting, so we had to just shut it down if we did not want to dry up during the night). Upon arrival, the TV was not working but it was promptly fixed.

Nice hotel with excellentvsea view
Nice peaceful location facing an excellent clean beach. Hotel is for great to for business trips. The chinese Resturant in the hotel is particular good! strange thing is the suite only has one waste bin and kind of innovative arrangement inside the suite

Nice hotel, a little removed from the city center
I am a frequent traveler to this hotel. The lobby is quite clean and very well staffed, however, of the 8 people at the front desk, only two spoke english. I was surprised since I would guess that 30-40% of the guests are foreign. The front desk attendants are quite friendly but its always quite chaotic, and it tends to make guests feel very anxious. The check in process after getting over the language barrier was quick. The rooms are reasonably clean and nicely decorated, but you can tell that some of the things are starting to show their age (upholstery on chairs, carpet). Most areas are clean, but if you look at detailed areas (between bed and nightstand), baseboards, behind TV etc, you'll find that the amount of dust in these areas has not been addressed in a long time. Bed linens are nice and crisp and clean, the beds offer a nice amount of firmness. No complaints for the sleep quality or temperature controls. The breakfast buffet is a large selection of western and oriental dishes, though the fried eggs were severely undercooked (egg whites still clear on top). Service at breakfast was non existent for coffee or tea, but they would remove your plates very fast at least. Overall, I'd stay here again, and I do when I go to Yantai.

This was my third stay in about a month. Seems like I was given the worst room in the hotel. Very disappointing for a repeat customer. The staff however, was as friendly and helpful as ever.

This was my second stay in about a month. The hotel continues to do everything right. I tried the Friday night buffet on the 47th floor. A fair price for very good food and a big selection.

This hotel is deteriorating as I have stayed a number of times and little less impressed each time. Location is main drawing point. Hotel lobby etc is cold and rooms not as clean as previously.

Excellent location for Yantai Exhibition Center
Only 5 minutes walk to the Exhibition Center. Hotel room is bigger than usual and reasonable price. Good breakfast buffet and several choice of restaurant. Top floor restaurant Taste of Asia, I had Indian Curry and taste was excellent. A little far from down town but walking distance to beach.

Checked into the hotel. The room was set at 30 degree C. Temperature control was not working. Called the front desk. The response was to send a maintenance person right away. Waited 10 minutes, no one showed up while I was steaming inside the room. Called front desk again and asked for a simple thing, change me to a different room but the front desk responded the same, send maintenance person. Waited again for another 10 minutes. Took my suitcase and went to the front desk, requested for a manager to take care of this problem, just assign me to another room. The manager took care of the problem and apologized for the long delay.

Hotel Restaurant closed Mondays and Tuesdays!
Our destination on this leg of this tour was actually Penglai, so the main reason we booked the Crowne Plaza in Yantai was the rave reviews of the world class restaurants, the Indian Cuisine in particular, on the scenic top floor - very very disappointed to find that they were closed (unadvertised on Hotels.com And the in-room hotel registry!) The manager was very polite about our complaints saying that the *Chinese* hotel's website clearly states this - gave us a 20% discount to the ground floor in house Chinese restaurant..., which was better than average but didn't satisfy the desired break from 3 weeks of (much loved) Chinese cuisine. We had a beautiful ocean view of the area where the Bohai and Yellow Seas converge from our upper level seaview room. Very clean comfortable room, but was still surprised by the somewhat typical (in China) stained carpets, and shower that, even with a door, flooded into the rest of the bathroom. Being a residential builder, I'm Always amazed by China's plumbing and electrical oversights...

Very Disappointed;This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and it will be the last.The clerk at checkin said the deposit would be credited back to my card upon departure and I was informed at checkout that it would be"several days ,maybe longer"The woman wearing glasses at checkout was much less than helpful and had a bad attitude.I told her as well as the checkin clerk that I would pay cash at checkout for any charges and the charges were still taken from my deposit.She offered no explanation and said it was too late to change the deduction.I am surprised she has a job at Crowne Plaza.Although it is a small amount of money it is a great inconvenience to me,THE CUSTOMER.In general I was greatly disappointed in the check in and out service and witnessed many people behind the counter having personal discussions and handling customers while continuing these discussions with many people waiting in line.I would be pleased to answer any specific questions.I would like to be notified when my reimbursement has been made.I would not recommend this hotel and would discourage my coworkers and clients from staying there.

The Crowne Plaza Yantai was my first hotel in China, so no expectations going in. Airport transfer was smooth, staff were incredibly accommodating. Was upgraded to a sea-view room at check-in, though being in the middle of winter, there wasn't much to look at. Loved the massive-sized bathtub. One curiosity was the location of the hotel, being very displaced from the city centre, requiring mostly travel by taxi.
